The Space

Unique event venue located right in the heart of Pike Place Market at the Gum Wall. Unexpected Productions’ Market Theater can seat 220 guests for corporate speaking events, meetings, performances, rehearsals and other theater style events. Outside the theater you’ll find a comfortable lobby and a full bar. Piano and keyboard available on site. Some table seating available. Conveniently located in downtown Seattle in the center of the tourist district, next to the gum wall, the Pike Place fish market and Rachel the pig! Easy access from I-5 and I-90.

$100 per hour

$800 per day


Rules & Regulations

Generally not available most evenings after 8pm due to classes and performances, although exceptions have been made. 
I must not act in a manner that does or is likely to adversely affect the peaceful operation of the premises.
I will not use the premises for illegal purposes or in any manner that could tarnish the reputation
of the Unexpected Productions or their premises. I will not tamper with, borrow, or remove any property kept on the premises.
I understand that I must maintain my rental area and the common areas of the premises in a
neat, clean and in a sanitary condition. I will be held solely responsible for the agreed upon rental area, including any common areas.
I will be held accountable for any injury or damages sustained during the duration of the rental and
occupancy on the premises.
I will be held liable for any guest, invitee, or visitor actions on the premises.

Parking

Unexpected Productions’ Market Theater is located downtown in Pike Place Market, in the heart of Seattle’s Tourist District.

On foot, go to the main entrance of the Pike Place Market at 1st and Pike. There, you’ll find Rachel, Pike Place Market’s full size brass piggy bank, beneath the neon sign and clock, right by the famous Pike Place Fish Company. From the pig, go down the stairs and around the corner into Post Alley, where you’ll find the Unexpected Productions at the Market Theater, along with the famous Gum Wall!

Directions via Car:
Pike Place (the cobblestoned street running north and south through the Market) is indeed a thoroughfare open to vehicle traffic, as well as pedestrians, making it a tricky business to navigate via car. Because of this, our directions are written with a destination of 1531 Western Avenue—the Public Market Parking Garage located behind the west side of Pike Place Market.
Via I-5 North: Take the Madison Street exit, #164, and turn left. Follow Madison Street to Western Avenue. Turn right onto Western Avenue. Follow Western Avenue for five blocks. The entrance to the Market Parking Garage is on the left side of the street.
Via I-5 South: Take the Denny Way/Stewart Street exit, #166. Follow Stewart Street to First Avenue. Turn right onto First Avenue. Two blocks north, turn left onto Lenora Street. Turn left onto Western Avenue. Follow Western Avenue for three blocks (passing Victor Steinbrueck Park on your right). The entrance to the Public Market Parking Garage is on the right side of the street.
Directions via Public Transportation:
Take Metro (Seattle’s great public bus system) or Sound Transit Light Rail to the Market. Many Metro bus routes will drop you off near the Market on First Avenue or Pine Street. And the Westlake Sound Transit Link Light Rail station is located only four blocks away from the Market. Parking is FREE on the street after 8:00 pm and on Sundays. Except during street fairs, free evening parking is also available in the market itself.
The Public Market Garage at 1531 Western Avenue (just behind the Market) has some of the most affordable parking rates in all of downtown Seattle.

• 1 - 2 hours: $6.00
• 2 - 3 hours: $9.00
• 3 - 4 hours: $12.00
• 4 - 10 hours: $20.00
• 10 - 24 hours: $20.00
• Early Bird 7 Days Per Week (enter before 9:30 a.m.; leave by 9:30 p.m.): $8
• Evenings (enter after 5 p.m. and exit by 2:00 am): $5.00

Free Parking after 5 pm at some Market Restaurants
Complimentary parking when you enter after 5:00 p.m. at the Public Market Parking Garage and dine at many Market restaurants. Please contact the restaurant where you plan to dine to see if they participate.
Valet Parking after 6 pm Thursday – Saturday
Convenient valet parking, located under the Public Market Center neon sign and clock, is available Thursday through Saturday from 6 pm to midnight. Please contact the restaurant where you plan to dine to see if they participate in the valet program.
